Top Things To Do at UBC
/Don’t know where to go or what to do? Look no further! Here’s a list of the best things to do on our beautiful campus:
The Museum of Anthropology provides an eclectic offering of artifacts and exhibits from human history and culture across the world. It is also an excellent resource for learning more about the local history of British Columbia and its First Nations. (Free with student card)
Pacific Spirit Regional Park is a 874 hectares park located in the University Endowment Lands. Many of its trails are “off-leash” meaning there are lots of cute dogs frolicking. Its trails range from gentle strolls to steep hikes, all through lush rainforest.
Wreck Beach epitomizes the phrase “let’s get weird”. It is deemed to be the most “lax” place in Vancouver, with tie dye and nudity making up the majority of the fashion. It is a great place to watch the sunset and be close to the ocean.
The Nitobe Garden will appeal to the introverts of the group. Zen correctly summarizes this place. It is a great place for a somber stroll, to read a book, or to ponder over your bad life decisions. Complete with a koi pond and fashioned in traditional Japanese design, this section of UBC makes you feel like you are a world away.
The Botanical Garden has an incredible diversity of plant life. Within the garden you can explore the amphitheatre, canopy walk, and tunnel. It’s 44 hectares mean you should budget an hour or two if you intend on seeing it all.
Honorable mentions to the Rose Garden, the Gallery, and Echochamber.
We hope you’ve found this list useful. Now get out there and enjoy all that UBC has to offer!
